New Arizona License Plate Law Takes Effect January 1
A new state law that takes effect January 1, 2009 prohibits drivers from obscuring the state listed on a license plate. The law was designed to allow law enforcement officials to easily identify the state, given the variety of specialty license plate designs on the road. Drivers whose license plate holders obscure the state face a $130 fine.

Attention California travelers! It is now illegal for drivers under age 18 to use any cell phone or other electronic device while driving in California. The law still allows drivers of all ages to use a cell phone or other mobile device in case of emergency. Fines range from $70 to $190.
